Level 2 Advanced (National) Coach

  • 1999 Junior National Champion
  • 2000 National Medalist
  • 2017 Masters American Snatch Record Holder
  • 2019 Masters Pan Am Champion
  • 2020 Masters Nationals Competitor

While watching the 1996 Olympic Games, Bobby witnessed amazing athletes performing at the top of their game. Three weightlifting athletes really inspired him; Pyrros Dimas from Greece, Naim Süleymanoğlu from Turkey, and the American powerhouse, Mark Henry. Throughout his adolescent years, Bobby played numerous sports but weightlifting was where he excelled. When he learned that Pensacola was slated to be an Olympic Weightlifting development center site, he was knocking down the gym doors at first chance. Within his first few years of competing, he medaled at Junior Nationals, placed at Senior Nationals, and was invited to train as a resident athlete in Colorado Springs, Colorado. In 1999, he obtained his weightlifting coach’s certification.

Bobby fell out of the sport for a few years, but in 2014 he stepped back into a gym and rediscovered his passion. He started training, competing, and writing programs for fellow athletes; he was now ready to put his coaching certification to use. He now competes as a Masters athlete and holds the Masters American Record for snatch in the 69kg weight class. He has competed in all levels of this sport and his love for it only grows.

“I have developed Team Florida of Pensacola to help shape and grow the Olympic Weightlifting community in Pensacola. I am excited to meet everyone and join the Alpha Omega family.”
