Though all the world be troubled

Written by Joseph McCrory

It has been said that, “Worry is the advance interest you pay on troubles that seldom come… Similar to a rocking chair, it will give you something to do, but it won’t get you anywhere”. Vance Havner

 Worrying can take a heavy toll on your physical and mental health preventing sleep, creating edginess throughout the day, and aches and pains in your body. While it is normal to worry about first dates, bills, and regular everyday life; normal worry may become excessive when it is overwhelming and persistent. If you worry every day about what might be and worst-case scenarios, you may not be able to escape the anxious thoughts in your head, and it could interfere with your daily life.

Stop talking about the “could haves”, “should haves”, and “ifs” and focus on the positives and goodness you do have in your life. Be thankful for family and friends that love and support you.

Though all the world be troubled

Annie Johnson Flint

Though all the world be troubled,

And men’s hearts faint with fear

At the danger in the distance

And dangers drawing near;

Though every help should fail them

On which their hopes are stayed,

“Let not your heart be troubled,

Nor let it be afraid”.

Though all the world be troubled,

And its foundations shake,

Though raging seas shall thunder,

And mighty mountains quake;

Though lofty walls shall crumble

And in the dust be laid,

“Let not your heart be troubled,

Nor let it be afraid”.

Though all the world be troubled,

And bounds and landmarks lost,

Though on the stormy billows

Your little bark be tossed

Though all around be changing,

Here let your mind be stayed,

“Let not your heart be troubled,

Nor let it be afraid”.
