From the time you were very little, you’ve had people who have smiled you into smiling, people who have talked you into talking, sung you into singing, loved you into loving. Let’s take some time to think of those extra special people.
I had the opportunity to run the 2nd Annual Joe Relaxo Challenge at the Community Maritime Park this weekend with friends Jeanne Boyle and Eric Nelson. The challenge was to run 1-mile every 30 minutes for 24 hours. Jeanne and I split the task as a two-person team each running 25 miles (we ran the first and last mile together) and Eric ran all 48 miles on his own.
Eric won the fastest male on the course and Jeanne and I were the second fastest team and first fastest coed team. We survived chilly 40-degree temperatures, cold wind gusts off the bay, and very minimal rest with the help of many, many friends and family members. We ran every mile hard, finishing our last miles with PRs for the race.
Thank you to everyone who was able to come out, support the endeavor, and put smiles on our faces, as without you, it would have been impossible.
